Raymond Shon is the piano teacher and founder of Aalto School of Music.
Raymond is a Master’s graduand of Sibelius Academy, Helsinki where he studied with Teppo Koivisto and Risto-Matti Marin. He graduated from the Melbourne Conservatorium in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) where he studied piano with Stephen McIntyre.
A versatile musician, Raymond also plays the organ, harpsichord, and is an active pianist in lied, chamber music, and orchestral settings.
He has also received formal training in conducting and composition.
Raymond has many years experience as a piano teacher and accompanist both in Melbourne and in Helsinki. He has taught all ages and levels both privately and in school environments, including three years within the renowned Finnish education system, at the International School of Music Finland and the International School Helsinki.
Raymond’s performances have been broadcast on national Finnish radio YLE1, and he has performed numerous concerts in Finland, The Netherlands and Australia.
